Hello, My Name is Julio Miranda I am the proud instructor of Traditional Okinawan Shorin-Ryu Shorinkan Karate located in Beautiful Carlsbad/ Oceanside.

I also have locations in Temecula and Encinitas.

I’ve been studying/ practicing/ developing my Karate for well over ten years. It’s been a fantastic journey and I’ve met a lot of great people and continue to do so. I would love to say a special thank you to Sal “Shihan” and Noujaim, Nabil “Kyoshi-Hachi Dan” for being the true spirit of Karate. You are special human beings and I am proud to have you as my immediate Teachers, Mentors, and friends.

The Birth Place of Modern Day Karate. Why begin this journey that has evolved and lasted for over a thousand years? It’s origins can literally be traced! There are many who have chosen the path and became synonymous with Karate; Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris, Van Dam, Steven Segal, and Jet Li, just to name a few stars that have surpassed what we consider normal human feats.

Modern day science is finally discovering and recognizing the many health benefits Karate provides. For example training may invoke; greaterconcentration, greater physical health, greater sense of well being, greater balance, greater coordination, greater self-confidence, greater peace, greater strength, greater self-control, and flexibility just to name a few things. However, these benefits cannot be achieved by simply swallowing a pill. Time and Dedication to the Art will never be replaced.

The late Bruce Lee transcended his limits, “ego”, and as a result would say my art is “The Art of Fighting Without Fighting”. I encourage all to allow the answers to come from wherever and whoever may provide a starting point. As the parable states, where there’s a start there’s an ending. Therefore give yourself a chance of a lifetime that may change you forever!

What We Do “We are in the business of guiding Karate practitioners in the discovery of their true selves”.
