| Outline of information to be covered: All students will receive beginner, intermediate, and advance Karate instruction. All aspects of Karate will be covered; kicks, punches, blocks, combinations, forms, applications, standing/ ground techniques, and weapons; etc. Curriculum followed for appropriate time and rate of advancement in belt level. Class objective: I would love the students to learn that by mastering oneself they can invoke and apply their innate abilities to everyday living. As the late Bruce Lee would say, “The Art of Fighting without Fighting”. Instructional methodology: The class will be taught in a combination of lecture, demonstration, and hands-on/ application. Experience: I have been training in this field for well over ten years and continue. I am also continuing my practice/ development in Shorinkan Okinawa Karate field and education with monthly trips to El Centro, Ca., seminars, and yearly trips to Okinawa, Japan. Demand: This class is an asset to the community because it allows individuals the opportunity to learn a life changing art for a minimal expense. Competition: These types of classes can be found in a variety of places; however, due to city budget cuts in the north county area there has been a decline in an affordable rate. This class allows the students to pay as they go without any contracts and or negotiable rates. Promotional paragraph suitable for publication: Okinawa Shorin-Ryu Shorinkan is a system of unarmed combat that can be traced back over 1000 years. Yearly trips to Okinawa are made to continue unity, fellowship, and an experience of authentic cultural art. What better way to experience the art than from where it all started?
